Bath VA Medical Center, part of VA Health Care Upstate New York is located in the Southern Tier of New York State. The Medical Center serves Veterans in Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates counties in NY, as well as Veterans in Tioga and Potter counties in Pennsylvania.
The Medical Center, founded in 1878 as a Grand Army of the Republic Soldiers and Sailors Home has proudly served Veterans for over 130 years. The facility provides a full range of patient care services. They also provide primary and mental health care through clinics in Coudersport, Elmira, Mansfield and Wellsville.
A national cemetery with roots dating back to the Civil War is also located on the Medical Center grounds. There are five Medal of Honor recipients interred at Bath National Cemetery, as well as 28 soldiers from the War of 1812, and a large number of Union Soldiers from the Civil War. Bath National Cemetery also maintains Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, New York.
